BreatheEasy User Feedback
Real People, Real Results

Feedback, comments and case studies of real BreatheEasy users...

You may see some of these comments on other pages of the website. But they are expanded here in greater detail and for those visitors coming directly to this page. Also see Clinical Trials under the Results tab for documentation of clinical research.

NOTE: User comments come in faster than I can keep up with. The result is that a new page with major updating and a makeover will appear here soon.

Health product testimonials are often acquired from new users, still in the grip of a placebo effect. Check with them a year down the road and you'll often hear a different story. Here you can find follow-ups from BreatheEasy users after months or even a year or more have passed.

No treatment is 100% effective. Not everyone can expect the same results. These examples are published to show what is possible with Breatheasy and what real people do achieve. You may not get the same results.

All user quotes on this website are backed by documentation on file as required by FTC regulation.

"Thank you for a wonderful product. My blood pressure went from 145/78 to 122/65 while using it (along with my medication). I was able to lower my dose of Diovan down to 160 mg and it helped motivate me to kickstart a healthy lifestyle. Thank you for offering a non-medicating way to tackle blood pressure and get back on track to living a normal life."

"I ordered the CDs and have been using them for about 3 months. I am quite amazed at the wonderful results. I have been trying for years to beat high blood pressure with healthy diet and exercise but slow breathing was the missing link!

I used to have a BP (with medication) of 130/90 on average (sometimes MUCH higher)........I now have been able to reduce 1 of medications prescribed (atenolol) almost completely and my average BP is about 110/75 with a pulse around 72! Sometimes the readings are even lower - I feel wonderful and also continue to walk 1-2 miles daily combined with slow breathing (I often do the breathing if I am unable to sleep or while I am driving)- It makes me feel very calm and grounded and all I can say is that I am very pleased with your program!"

Case Study - George Newton

George Newton, of Boise, ID, ordered Breatheasy on the 3rd of December, 2007, and began using the downloads immediately. On the 11th of December he wrote:

"Well, I have to report a nice wee victory. Yesterday, after 30 minutes of breathing at 6 bpm, my BP was 117/78. Bingo. I haven't seen those numbers in my daily BP measurements since mid-2005!

For the last two and half years, systolic has been more around the mid-140s, and diastolic up to the mid-80s.  I don't think that is very bad but I was starting to worry about the ongoing durability of those numbers and the likelihood of them gradually increasing over time.

Just for the record, I am 65, recently retired (so I can bug you with long emails :), and keep myself in training but if your System helps me stay out of the clutches of the BP medicators, I shall be chuffed to bits.

I've had an interest in Eastern practices for some time so your approach is right up my alley. (I used to be in pharmaceutical manufacturing in the UK.) It's fascinating that the bpm rate and breathing pattern are so important.  So simple and so profound.  I like that."

I didn't hear from George again until suddenly 3 months later he sent me a detailed daily chart of his blood pressure readings and pulse rate recorded while using Breatheasy:

blood pressure chart

Systolic readings are in red, diastolic in blue and pulse rate in green. All three, but particularly systolic blood pressure (the more important element as we age) show a significant decrease over the three months that is comparable to or even better than the results of many medications.

We receive loads of comments and feedback but precise documentation like this is priceless. Thanks, George!

George adds:

"I think you will agree that the trendlines on the chart show an improvement in my blood pressure... It has been a rewarding experiment and I intend to continue the practice.  Thanks for improving my BP!"

UPDATE, June 1, 2008: Just received Georges's figures for his second 6 months using Breatheasy. He writes:

"Thought I'd send you my BP results of the second 3-months of practice with your BreathEasy System (BE).  As you predicted in your last email of March 4, I have pretty much reached 120/80, and am well chuffed.

Interestingly, it would seem that BE's beneficial effects persisted over a 2-week gap when I was out of town and not practising at all. And travel through London's Heathrow is never quite stress free...  When I got back and resumed practice, the decreases in systolic and diastolic more or less picked up where they left off.  Amazing.

Well, congratulations again on your method and all the work that went into it. Great stuff!

"I used the CDs for over 1 hour yesterday and had the best sleep I have had for a long time. My wife (an RN) said my breathing was slow and easy. A wonderful experience that I am looking forward to on a daily basis. I will be a willing reference any time.

"I was alarmed when my blood pressure and pulse rate shot up during my last pregnancy. The last thing I wanted was medications!

I'm so glad I discovered Breatheasy. It relaxed me, brought down both my pulse and blood pressure and I'm even sure that baby Enzo loved it!

"The magic of Interactive Breathing with Music... I was lucky enough to receive a copy of the Breatheasy System recently, a scientifically designed method of coordinating music with your breathing.

You only need to spend 15 minutes a day with the system to obtain benefits in your blood pressure. I found that it also improved my sleep patterns and helped me to relax. It's easy to learn and inexpensive compared to some other methods of blood pressure control without medication.

Breatheasy relies on the fact that slow breathing has the ability to relax blood vessels and thus reduce blood pressure. I check my own blood pressure regularly and the system certainly helped me.

"I have been using Breatheasy for a few days now and love the music. The breathing prompts remind me of shooting stars and also waves on the shingles... lovely.

I am just concerned as to the amount of time I can do this slow breathing as it's so nice. I now find myself doing it frequently during the day to relax and now fall asleep with the earplugs in at bedtime! That alone is fantastic for me.

"I checked out various stress reduction breathing programs including "Resperate" - $299, Heartmath's "emwave" -$199, and "Breatheasy" - $47 (Note: Price of an earlier version of Breatheasy). I subsequently bought "Breatheasy" because of its ease of use and varied music -- very simple, very functional, very relaxing. Just listen, breath along, and enjoy.

I use it regularly, am impressed with the results, and recommend it to others. Moreover, at a fraction of what other programs charge and with an unconditional 6 month money-back guarantee, what's not to like?

"Dear David,

I am so pleased to have found this way of lowering blood pressure. I am very allergic to so many drugs with reactions within 10 minutes of first dose. I will tell my GP when I see him what I'm doing but I'm sure he'll be quite happy as he was equally worried about my drug reaction.

Kellie has reviewed literally dozens of blood pressure remedies and relaxation programs. Here's what she said about Breatheasy:

"My doctor told me I should find time each day to relax... perhaps meditation or yoga. He then suggested I buy a CD of relaxing sounds and listen to it each night. The CDs (which were quite expensive) ended up being mostly rain sounds. It's nice to listen to rain but they quickly became very boring. I probably listened to them 5 times before they went in the bottom drawer.

I assumed that the Breatheasy CDs would be something similar. But Breatheasy was not what I expected! ... it works quicker. I can listen to it for 5 minutes and feel relaxed at the end of it. Also, knowing there is sound research behind it makes me feel like it's time well spent.

Case Study - Linda Schmid

Linda Schmid got lower blood pressure fast
July 10, 2007:

"I can't begin to tell you how much your system has already helped me. I started doing the download right away and within just a couple of days my blood pressure was down quite a bit of the time lower than I've seen it in years.

My average is somewhere around 155/85 but it often goes a lot higher to around 190/90 but that's not often.  Now it is around 126/70 at least part of the day.

I can't believe how fast it worked on me. I put off taking meds for 3 years but finally decided that I had to do something.  Thank you so much.

August 20 (six weeks later):

I am still very thrilled with your program. It's very hard to believe that something that is so enjoyable to do can lower your blood pressure so much, but it does.  My blood pressure is in the 120's or the lower 130's most all of the time now over 72.  As I had mentioned before it had gone as high as 190 over 90 but usually averaged around 155 or 160 over 85, so I have had a dramatic change thanks to your music.

UPDATE, August 2008: Linda contacted me to report that after dropping her blood pressure so far with Breatheasy last year she stopped doing slow breathing and, eventually, her blood pressure crept up again. I sent her our latest edition and she replied shortly thereafter:

"I do have good news.  Again my blood pressure has gone down quickly since I started listening to your CD's.  I started using them again a little over a month ago.  Before we left on our trip my pressure dropped most of the time to where I like it.  I was afraid that it would go up while we were on vacation but it did not.  I'm very lucky that it works so fast on me.

It is such a shame that so may people can't believe that listening to music and breathing to it can lower your blood pressure.  I tell my friends about it but they just don't want to try it.  I'd like to hit them over the head to wake them up but to them only meds can do it.  What a waste.

"Slow Breathing Can Lower Blood Pressure"

USA Today

Case Study - William Reid

William Reid beat high blood pressure

William Reid, a 76 year old retired police inspector of Stirling, Scotland, suffered high blood pressure for more than 20 years. Despite treatment with two powerful prescription drugs, his hypertension remained chronic, even reaching crisis levels of more than 200 over 100.

When the diuretic William had to take for his blood pressure led to a painful outbreak of gout he decided to find a natural alternative. But, like me, William tried one natural method after another without success. He even invested in an Chinese electrical device that simulates acupuncture called Jiun Jian.

Finally, William discovered slow breathing on the Internet. Experimenting with slow breathing on his own, William was encouraged by dramatic early results:

"I began breathing around 10 breaths per minute for 15 minutes a day, starting last Monday. Lo and behold, my pressure, both systolic and diastolic, fell dramatically. So much so that on Wednesday I stopped taking the pills prescribed by my doctor.

Despite his initial success with slow breathing, William soon began to experience setbacks. The effects proved inconsistent and difficult to maintain.

In frustration, he turned again to the web and this time he discovered Breatheasy. Using this system he lowered his blood pressure to a consistent average of 129 over 83 in just two months*. From his highest readings this is an amazing drop of more than 50 points systolic and 20 points diastolic.

*Taken from actual readings recorded by William and logged in his blog at http://ochils.blogspot.com

William was so impressed that he started his own blog to record his experience with Breatheasy slow breathing and to record his daily blood pressure readings: http://www.ochils.blogspot.com

Over the following year, despite all of the stresses in his life, William has maintained the blood pressure of a young man and has had no need of medications. He wrote in his blog:

"After the adverse effects of pharmaceutical drugs... I HAVE NOT used any pharmaceutical preparations at all. I now rely solely on Breatheasy.

The ONLY problem with Breatheasy is that you find it difficult to believe that something so simple and easy to use actually works. My advice is have faith... and believe in Breatheasy because IT WORKS!

William Reid

UPDATE: May 13, 2008: William writes: "Thank you Breatheasy for solving all my BP problems". After two years of dedicated daily use of the program William used Breatheasy for the last time on 28 March and is still maintaining a healthy average blood pressure of 130/83. He just turned 77 years of age!

NOTE: I make no claims that Breatheasy is a cure for high blood pressure but I do believe that over time it can alter your breathing pattern and your body's response to it on a long term basis.

"I checked the Resperate on the web and I was not impressed. I did some more research and found Breatheasy - sure glad I did! What a fantastic idea... I love the music!

3 weeks later...

Love the Breatheasy System! My blood pressure is down to 145/87 on average and I'm still on the first CD.

Katherine Hornton got stress relief

"Breatheasy is a lifesaver!"

for Katherine Hornton of Santa Cruz, CA. It not only relieved her hypertension but also the stress, anxiety and hyperactive behavior that seemed to be driving it.

"I've always been very active, a bit hyper even! I guess this contributed to my hypertension and high pulse rate. My doctor put me on Atenolol and at first I thought it was the answer. My heart rate and blood pressure did go down but then my energy and mood also took a nosedive. And my weight went up. I couldn't stand it!

I started trying alternatives and I'm so happy I discovered Breatheasy. My blood pressure and pulse are normal even though I quit the beta-blockers weeks ago. It also helps keep me level-headed but without taking the edge off like the drugs did. Even my doctor agrees that I made the right move.

Katherine Hornton
Santa Cruz, CA

"I was a little skeptical at first about trying the Breatheasy System. I have always known that slowing down your breathing will relax you but I did have doubts about how it can lower your blood pressure. Well, I decided to give it a try and I absolutely love it!

It is SO relaxing. It only takes 15 minutes a day and I can easily lower my BP about 20-30 points after one session.

Sonia Sharifi
San Jose, CA

"I love the soundtrack. Do you have any more music for it?
